Response to Literature Paragraph

Today we learned how to structure a response to literature paragraph. Even though I already had a basic knowledge regarding that kind of paragraph, I still learned a couple of new things. I learned that there should only be one quote in each paragraph. Not three, not two, just one. I don't understand why there should only be one though. I mean, what if you need to support a quote with another one? It makes me intellectually curious! But besides that, I also learned that you needed to have a conclusion. I did not know that. I always thought that there was only one conclusion, and tht conclusion was found at the end of the essay. So overall, today was a pretty productive day for me. Not only in English class, but also in some of my other classes.

  1. I think we need one quote because then it puts it front and center, that way it has to be strong along with the fact that it's easier to explain just one as supposed to three.

  2. Me too! I also thought the only conclusion would be at the end of the essay.
