In the article, "Final Salute", Jim Sheeler writes about how the death of a Marine can have a hard effect on not only friends and family but it can also have an impact on strangers. "Never leave a Marine behind" (Sheeler 2) shows that someone who sacrificed their life for this country will always be remembered in other people's lives. "Final Salute" shows the hardships of loosing a family member, a friend, and a stranger. "The passengers pressed their faces against the windows. Outside, a procession walked toward the plane" (2). This quote really gives the description of the importance a a fallen Marine especially because all the people on the plane watching attentively were only mere strangers so it's incredible to imagine the impact on a family member or friend. In the end, fallen hero will always be commemorated.
