The Final Salute
The Final Salute was an article about how Lt. Cathey's death affected friends, family, and even strangers. "The passengers pressed their faces against the windows. Outside, a procession walked toward the plane" (Sheeler 2). This quote shows the effect that the death of a marine can have on people. "Then her eyes locked on the cargo hold and the flag-draped casket. Inside the plane, they couldn't hear her screams" (Sheeler 3). In this quote, Sheeler describes the marines painful experience in seeing her husbands casket. This quote helps explain the anguish that Lt. Cathey's family must be having. This article not only tells me that the death of a marine affects everyone, but that they will always be honored as well.

I really liked your paragraph, Joan. And I like the quotes you used to back up your reasoning. Great job!
