Final Salute.

[FINAL SALUTE.] By: Michael Green.

he Final Salute from Rocky Mountain News, by Jim Sheeler is a touching story about the hard journey of losing a loved one, who was in the military (marines in this case), and the hardship that you have to go through in this painful process. The Final Salute’s eminent idea is that it’s difficult to lose someone and that there are repercussions to everyone involved with that person as well as people that ascertain knowledge of the event. This is shown by the quote, “[telling a woman on a plane what had happened] ‘I’m escorting a fallen Marine home to his family from the situation in Iraq.’ The woman quietly said she was sorry, Conley said. Then she began to cry.” (Sheeler, 2) The woman wasn’t the only one crying after reading this touching and heartfelt article.
