One of the most uninteresting things in English for me personally and for just about everyone, I would expect, is MLA formatting. I always saw it as something that English teachers liked to see because it was formal. I found out today that for that one part of it actually is to prevent kidnapping. Well not "kidnapping" but plagiarism, and the part that prevents that is citations.
I actually learned a lot today, because most teachers go over the general stuff such as books and articles but of course I never or almost never seem to use these. I seem to always find those articles with no authors, or multiple authors and other sources that are impossible to cite. Although I was pretty bored through this lesson I was so thankful that Ms. A went over all of this because come the reasearch paper I would have been more then a little lost.
So in the end, I realized three things today:
-Everything we learn in class is helpful at one point in your life its not just something to waste your time
- You can get a quote from just about everything
and
- Thanks to the lesson today MLA citations aren't that bad.
