Araceli Mendez

Hello everyone, my name is Araceli Mendez and I am 15 years of age. There are a lot of things that I am and normal is not one of them. At first you may see me as quiet, timid and a bit nerdy, and it is only when you pull me out of my shell that I am caring, loud, sarcastic, a worry wart, and a tad bit crazy among other things.

I am Mexican, both of my parents coming from immigrant families that through their suffering were able to set the foundation for the life I have now. The most inspirational people personally for me are my grandfathers and that is the biggest reason I keep my Spanish fluent and try to follow culture and traditions strictly, so that I do not lose sense of where I came from.

My interest consist of cooking, baking, photography, spending time with family and friends, learning about history or medicine and music, of course. I think that my work in the kitchen and behind the camera are at least a little above average or at least I like to imagine that it is; even if they aren't I am still going to enjoy doing so. My family is most important to me and my friends are a close third (sorry guys, my religion had to come after family), I enjoy laughing, telling stories and all in all being around them. I hope to be in the mental health field once getting out of college, hopefully being able to diagnose and aid in the treatment mental illness.

And finally, before I end my rambling I love anything vintage and music. I usually try to avoid modern music with a few exceptions here and there because in my mind the best music comes from the 50's, 60's and sometimes the 80's. My miscellaneous list of favorite artist at the moment consist of: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley , Jason Mraz, The Smiths, Coldplay, Anberlin and many, many more.
