It is very hard to lose a loved one. But knowing that he passed a loyal warrior can give you pride and gratefulness. In the book, Final Salute: A Story of Unfinished Lives written by Jim Sheeler, we should all know that even through all the pain and suffering, there is that one person that can pick you off your feet again and show you that even though he/she is no longer with them, they will never be forgotten for what they did for you and other people.
In the story that has become an emotional roller coaster ride for all, Maj. Steve Beck is responsible for telling a family what they never wanted to hear. It's not only hard for the family but it also affects Beck's everyday life. But knowing that he is there to support you and help you through the drastic journey can lift some weight off your shoulders. Without the comfort or support, you wouldn't know how to cope. This quote cause my eye and also supported my theme. This really shows how dedicated he is to his job: I actually start thinking about it the moment I wake up. It's such an important job that I just don't want to mess up. I just want it to be perfect."(qtd. in Sheeler Final Salute) Even though you have the mind set that no one will be there for you in this time of need, you should really think again.
